kluster
A CLI that stands up a local Kubernetes cluster in minutes for development and CI testing
- Go
- Kubernetes
- k3d
- CLI
Kluster spins up a Kubernetes environment in a single step, so developers with any level of Kubernetes experience can run their software in a cluster that is just for them, locally or in CI.
Goals
- Simple. One command gives a pre-configured cluster, without the distraction of provisioning one through a cloud provider.
- Repeatable. Configuration files give everyone on a team the same local environment, instead of stale instructions in a wiki.
- Safe to break. A disposable, local cluster keeps the cost of a mistake to one person and a few minutes.
- Extensible. An add-on system installs and pre-configures commonly used software, such as ArgoCD for testing auto-deployment.
Status
A working prototype, built with Claude Code, that is used for my own projects. Bug reports, feedback, and contributions are welcome on GitHub.
Kluster is for local and CI environments, not production workloads.
